Pros

  • +Two data outputs (GPIO16 + GPIO2) plus an IO33 GPIO and expansion header
  • +Integrated microphone and relay function standard, not an upsell
  • +USB-C (Type-C) UART firmware flashing, ships pre-flashed with WLED
  • +Handles up to 800 LED ICs, 10A per channel and 15A total
  • +Wide 5–24V input in an enclosed IP20 case
  • +Includes an English datasheet PDF

Cons

  • Two outputs — step up to the four-output GL-C-017WL-D for more zones
  • Wi-Fi only, no Ethernet
  • Controller only — power supply and cabling not included

The GL-C-016WL-D is Gledopto's two-output UART controller: two digital data outputs (GPIO16 and GPIO2) plus an IO33 GPIO and an expansion header (5V, IO25, IO18, IO19, 3.3V, GND), driving up to 800 LED ICs from a 5–24V input at 10A per channel and 15A total. Unlike the variant-based GL-C-015WL, the onboard microphone and relay function are standard here, so sound-reactive effects and automatic power cut-off to the strips work out of the box. Firmware flashes over USB-C (Type-C UART) and it ships pre-flashed with WLED — join the "WLED-AP" hotspot and configure it in a browser, no gateway required. It sits in an enclosed IP20 case with restart and function buttons. Supported chips include WS2812B, WS2815, SK6812, SM16703, GS8208 and TM1814. For a single short strip the Mini is cheaper; for four outputs, step up to the GL-C-017WL-D.
